Description

According to legends, Lord Vishnu created Ayyappan for saving the world from annihilation. Other holy scriptures state that Lord Ayyappan is the embodiment of Sree Dharma Sastha and is the head of the Pandya Royal Clan.

The Ayyappa Swamy Puja is performed for invoking the blessings of lord Ayyappa who is the perpetrator of growth and protector of dharma. Worshipping this deity is believed to remove all evils from life. This Puja has to be followed by bhajan and kirthans.

It is preferable that Puja host follows the Vratham, house and self cleanliness (for at-least 3 days before the Puja with or without Maala). It is preferable to prepare and have only vergetarian food for 2-3 days before the Puja.

Puja to be done with Lord Ayyappa Photograph

  • Lord Ayyappa Photograph are available in the Temple or the Pandit who will perform the Bajan·
  • VighrahamAbhishekam – Pandit will bring and also it need to be done only during weekdays

Flowers:

  • 1 Mala for the lord and other maalas as required ; You can make maala yourself
  • Archana flowers – a bunch or two of flowers as deemed by host to buy from local shop

House Puja Food:

  • RSVP and Evite to devotees compulsory
  • Maximum of 2 sweets and a minimum of 1 sweet.
  • Morning Puja Meals (maximum of 3 items only, 2 vegetables maximum, rice 3 items maximum)
  • Evening Puja can have mostly tiffin items or restricted meals not to waste food carried over to the next day
  • No onion/garlic
  • Cholestrol + Sugar free to be kept in mind during food preparation

Homemade food for Prasadam as Mala wearing swamies can only take home made prasadams
Please avoid garlic, onion, frozen items in the food in any shape or form.
Please prepare the food on the same day of the Puja. Food prepared previously is not good for prasadam.
